Q: Why do some white LEDs give off a bluish tint when they start up as their usage increases?
A: White LEDs are made from fluorescent coated blue LED chips. Over time, the degradation of the fluorescent layer, most likely caused by the high operating temperature of the chip, results in the blue tint of the light emitted. Remote coating of phosphor technology overcomes this problem.
